Why did you decide to become a veterinarian? I decided to become a veterinarian because one of my goals is to help oversee that animal populations, domestic (like your pets) and wild (like the Brown Pelicans in the Gulf covered with oil), are healthy and happy. Good health is not only important for the individuals themselves, but also for the people they come in contact with and the environment in which they live.

How did J.M. Pet Resort come to be? Tell us about yourself! After graduating from Stonehill College with a degree in biology, I worked as a veterinary technician full-time days. I would train dogs part-time in the evenings. Training dogs was always a passion and hobby for me. I rented an adequately sized building where I offered a few group training lessons and a few private lessons.

The mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex just might have been your pet bird’s great grandparrot. Many scientists maintain that dinosaurs were more closely related to birds than alligators. Consider the scaly legs, upright stance and egglaying that your average Amazon and T-Rex share. Moreover, fossils have been unearthed of dino moms protectively squatting on nests. Some scientists speculate that dinosaurs were warm blooded. Evidence even suggests that certain dinosaurs, like many birds, patronized the same “maternity wards” from year to year.

It’s all in the framework

The Framework of your horse and your body is comprised of bones and muscles all coordinated by the nervous system. What if we take this Framework and bend it as well as distort it?  When this distortion occurs muscles strain and begin to fail, organs abnormally function due to crowding within the body, abnormal body chemistry occurs due to a change in circulation and waste product build up. To restore this function we need to restore the Framework as well as correct the cause of the Framework distortion.
